Social Consumption: A New Frontier

25 march 2025Category : Social Consumption Video

Doober recognizes the growing demand for social consumption spaces, and with Massachusetts finalizing its framework for three types of social consumption licenses, we see an exciting opportunity to expand into this space. Initially, we will explore the Supplemental License, which allows existing licensed cannabis businesses—like our future Delivery Operator model—to host on-site consumption within or attached to our facility. This model enables us to create an intimate and controlled space for curated cannabis experiences, where consumers can enjoy products purchased on-site while engaging with educational and entertainment-driven events.

Beyond the Supplemental model, Doober sees immense potential in the Hospitality License, which allows cannabis consumption to be integrated into existing social and entertainment venues. Through strategic partnerships with cafés, theaters, hotels, and wellness spaces, we can introduce cannabis-friendly experiences that complement and enhance these businesses. Picture a high-end lounge where consumers can enjoy carefully curated cannabis pairings, or a cannabis and wellness retreat where guided consumption sessions support relaxation and mindfulness. These collaborations will allow us to tap into established customer bases while normalizing and elevating cannabis as part of mainstream social culture.

The Event Organizer License is another avenue that offers flexibility and accessibility with relatively low overhead. This license would allow Doober to host and promote temporary social consumption events throughout the year, partnering with venues that want to offer cannabis experiences but may not be ready to commit to a full-time consumption space. These events could range from pop-up cannabis tastings and infused dining experiences to music festivals and industry networking nights. With up to 24 permitted events annually, Doober can use this license as a testing ground to gauge consumer interest, refine our event strategies, and build brand awareness in the social consumption space.

By strategically layering these three licensing opportunities, Doober aims to position itself as a leader in the evolving social cannabis landscape. Our vision is to create safe, legal, and engaging environments where consumers can enjoy cannabis in a social setting, much like they would with craft beer or fine wine. With our strong foundation in delivery and multimedia content, we have the tools to educate, entertain, and build community, ensuring that social consumption is not just about the product, but about the experience.
